2012 is here! We are excited about being one of the best web design companies 2011, but we still think 2012 will be the best year yet! We have decided to create a list of what best web design companies in 2012 will be doing to make sites more unique!

Technology has been changing rapidly, and we feel like websites are becoming more custom, clean and unique. I have put together a few website design trend predictions for 2012. Let us know your thoughts!

As in 2011, I have always thought font could either make or break a site. Hand written fonts with the use of companies like tyoekit, or Google font. These fonts allow the client to change styles quickly, and easily. If you have not checked out Google Font yet, then you need to! Its amazing! The good folks at Google have put together over 300 fonts that will work for your website, and they are FREE!

Some more trends to think about:

1. Make more useful stuff. People realize they need a website, they also realize now that they need their website to be meaningful, and useful.
2. Ecommerce sites won’t just sell things anymore. They will become resources spots for people to learn, and become informed first, then sell. The best sites don’t just sell stuff, they educate then sell. For instance, if you had a jewelry ecommerce site, you will need to create a video series of how your process works, and maybe some how to guides. If you were a high end jewelry store, or really wanted to make an impact you could offer a video showing someone’s special ring being created.
3. More personal connection with companies, and consumers. With social media companies have become more personal; this will trend to websites in the years to come. Where companies, start adding personal videos, image galleries, etc.
4. Video, Video, Video. I think Video will be HUGE in 2012. It’s become so easy to create, and upload videos to your website that it’s almost becoming a necessity to create an unfair advantage.
5. Making a brand will be important. It has become evident that you need a brand.
6. Vintage and simple designs will be even more popular. The design like “Apple” concept will be more popular. The retro vintage theme is popular, and will stay popular.
7. Data will be important. Websites are important to businesses. Companies that use the web as a primary source of revenue will see data even more important. People need and want to know how their website is performing, and where their traffic is coming from.
8. Responsive Web Design will be a hot topic. If you have not heard of responsive web design, then just wait 6 months.
9. Template sites will become known as cheap. If a company is to be taken serious, then they need a real website, something that will attract real vistiors.
